from Mazatlán by ferry, La Paz is located to the west in Baja
California Sur. The city, which means "Peace," is the capital
of its state and offers plenty to see and do. Although not as
popular as Los Cabos, which is farther south in the Baja, La

for watersports (kayaking, fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling)
and spotting whales, dolphins, sea lions and manta rays. To
get to La Paz from Mazatlán, take the 18-hour ferry trip from
the harbor at Mazatlán's southern tip.
