Jazz fans have two events to look forward to this coming week. The first is on Tuesday, the 29th, at 8:00 p.m. in the Angela Peralta Theater. The second is the following night at 8:30, at the Bolero, the little club that__s back-to-back with the Hotel Freeman in the Centro Historico..

On Tuesday, the group called Jazz Fusion Wet Paint and the Mazatlan Camerata, directed by Roberto Arballo Loreto,(nicknamed Betuco), will present an evening titled __Jazzerata.__

Betuco is one of the most renowned jazz figures in Mexico. He and his fellow musicians have come through in substitution for the Italian dance company Deja Donne whose dancers have run into health problems. .

The unique gala performance will be enriched with the Camerata Mazatlan, a group comprised of internationally recognized virtuosos, teachers and students of the School of Music at the Center for the Arts. Their performance,_ under the direction of Maestro. Percival Alvarez, rounds out the evening .being presented under the aegis of the Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art,

Jazzerata tickets cost 200, 150, 120, 100 and 50 pesos

On Wednesday, a group of local professional jazz musicians put together by Reno-based jazz pianist Ken Woods will play lan evening of __Dixinaloense__ at the Bolero.

This is a jam session, according to Woods, that will include both Dixie and conventional jazz pieces. interpreted by him and half a dozen of his friends in a much more informal cafe setting.

Admission is 50 pesos in advance, 80 pesos at the door -- plus, of course, whatever you consume during the evening.
