Police Equipment Donated

For the third year in a year in a row, Kenneth D. Honing of the New York Port Police donated needed equipment to Mazatlán’s Secretary of Public Security and Municipal Traffic, Jesus Gilberto Acuña Armenta. The slightly used equipment donated included bullet proof vests, and equipment belts, gun holsters, batons, caps, and uniforms. The equipment was worth between three and four thousand dollars. Honing has been visiting Mazatlán for years and had noticed the

police here were working under very precarious conditions. Acuña Armenta said, “We want to extend close ties to the Police of our neighboring country to the north because we know they have good equipment which is periodically replaced, and they have been supportive to us by donating the used equipment to better the conditions of security and public operations here in Mazatlán.” It was also said that this upgrade is very important as the bad guys have also upgraded their equipment.
