Altas Throughout the dates of carnaval, the kilometer-long street dance
takes place on Olas Altas, starting in the early evening and ending in
the morning hours. And the Plazuela Machado will get into a fiesta mood
with special illumination and live music and clowns and shows from mid-afternoon
to late in the evening throughout the carnaval period. Also on this month’s
cultural agenda: Feliart, the Mazatlán Book Fair, takes over the Plazuela
Machado for 10 days beginning Friday, Feb. 29. This year’s bookfest is
dedicated to famous Mexican novelist Carlos Fuentes and to the late Mazatlán
artist-writer Antonio Haas.
