February Calendar of Performances Feb. 3: a percussion concert by the Sinaloa
Orchestra for the Arts Feb. 10 & Feb. 17: a brass quartet, a string quartet
and pianist Zlatina Valkova. Tickets for reserved seats are 80 pesos for
each concert above, or 200 pesos for the three, retaining the same seats
each time Feb. 7, 8:00pm: a performance titled “La Basura” (The Garbage)
by the InVitro Contemporary Dance Company Feb. 15, 7:00pm: celebration of
the 130th anniversary of the beautifully restored Angela Peralta Theater,

with a reenactment of the arrival of La Peralta in Mazatlán followed by
the opening of an art exhibit dedicated to the miniature format 8:00pm:
a recital by internationally renowned pianist Fritz Steinegger, who will
play works by Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert and Chopin Note: Winners
in the prestigious Carnaval-related Antonio Lopez Saenz competition for
Sinaloa painters will be announced on Feb. 18 at the Mazatlán Art Museum,
and an exhibit of all the contestants will be on display throughout the
remainder of February. |
