Visitors who arrive
in Mazatlán in the month of December can always add a concert or two to
their beach vacation, thanks to the events in progress as part of the
Mazatlán Cultural Festival. Most of these performances are staged in the
historic, restored Angela Peralta Theater, although a few always take
place in the theater’s open-air lobby or in the adjacent Plazuela Machado.
Here’s what’s on the calendar this month. Unless otherwise noted, these
events take place on the dates noted at 8 p.m., in the theater, Calle
Carnaval near the corner of Constitucion, in Old Mazatlán. The box office
is to the right of the theater entrance. Phone (Spanish only) is 982-4446.
Events scheduled for the theater’s lobby or art gallery, or in the adjacent
Plazuela Machado, are admission-free. The program as posted below is subject
to changes and additions, so we suggest that readers check with the box
office or the English language section on the website: www.teatroangelaperalta.com
